Betula jacquemontii

Whitebarked Himalayan Birch
Zone: 5-8
8"-12"/ year
20´-25´/ 10 years
upright, pyramidal

A stately sentinel, standing vigilant; white bark practically glowing in stark contrast to the greens and blues of garden conifers and the multi-colored aprons of flowers in the garden.  The white "paper"  bark of the trunk on this pyramidal shaped wonder is beyond remarkable.  The foliage is a darker green, providing additional contrast in spring and summer, turning golden yellow in the fall.
