This Northern Japanese Hemlock is a broad upright grower. It is often multi-trunked, and not a very rapid grower (8´-10´ in ten years). Its dark green needles have silvery undersides. In addition to its slower growth rate, attractive form, and foliage, ´Diversifolia´ seems to be remarkably resistant to insect pests. Used in large or small groups as boder, small groupings of two or three, or individually, ´Diversifolia´ is an attractive addition to the garden that will provide year-round interest.
